Trans Woman, 24, Fatally Shot In Englewood

CHICAGO — A shooting in Englewood killed Tiara Richmond, 24, on Tuesday morning.

At 6:14 a.m., the victim said she was in a car with a man in the 7300 block of South May Street when the man fired shots, police said. The victim was hit in her chest, arm and hand.

Officers responding to a call of shots fired found the woman on the ground nearby, police said.

The victim was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where her condition was not available but she was listed as "stable," police said.

The victim was later pronounced dead, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

The victim's Facebook and friends identified her as Tiara Richmond. She also went by the name Keke Collier, Mic reports. 

Police originally identified the victim as a man.

The shooter drove southbound on May Street after the shooting and no one was in custody.
