Aldi To Host Hiring Event For Chicago Area Job Seekers On Saturday

CHICAGO — Expanding discount grocery chain Aldi on Saturday will host a hiring event to fill positions in stores in the south and west areas of the Chicago region.

"Aldi offers generous compensation and benefits to all employees, well above the industry standard," a spokeswoman said.

According to a news release, Aldi store associates earn between $12 to $13.50 per hour, while shift managers bring in $16.50 to $18 per hour.

Manager trainees can earn $54,900 to $56,190 per year, with an opportunity to earn $82,000- $94,000 per year as a store manager.

Saturday's hiring event is scheduled for 8 a.m. to noon. and 1 to 6 p.m. at Aldi, 8333 S. Cicero Ave.

Pay varies by location, and employees averaging more than 25 hours a week are eligible for health insurance benefits and dental coverage. All employees are invited to participate in the 401(k) program.

Applicants must be 18 or older to apply and a high school diploma or GED, and previous retail experience is preferred. Aspiring Aldi workers must be able to pass a drug screening and background check and have the ability to lift 45 pounds.
