Woman Abducted At Knifepoint And Sexually Assaulted, Police Say

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — A 22-year-old woman abducted at knifepoint at 8:17 a.m. Monday in Washington Heights was forced to perform sex acts, according to the Chicago Police Department.

Police in the Morgan Park District released a sketch of the attacker Thursday morning as part of a community alert.

The victim was walking in the 9800 block of South Emerald Avenue when she was forced into a gray, four-door Chevrolet, police said. One inside, she was forced to perform various sexual acts, police said.

The attacker is described as a black man ages 23-27 and between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9. He has a light brown complexion, brown eyes, a trimmed beard and a slim build, according to police.

He was wearing a black coat with a black hood that featured red writing on it. He was also wearing a black and gray skull cap and green camouflage pants, police said.

The abduction occurred just four blocks west of the Medgar Evers Elementary School and five blocks west of Euclid Park.

Police are advising area residents to be aware of their surroundings in the wake of the abduction and to travel in groups whenever possible.
