THE LOOP — A Loop bank was robbed Wednesday afternoon on Michigan Avenue, federal authorities say.

A man walked into the Citibank at 100 S. Michigan Ave. just before 12:30 p.m. when he made threats that he had a weapon and fled with cash, the FBI said. The amount he took from the bank is unknown.

The FBI did not have a photo of the suspect, but he is described as a 5-foot-9 black man between 26 and 27 years old with a thin mustache and a messenger bag with white over the shoulder strap, the FBI said.

The suspect fled south on Michigan Avenue after leaving the bank, the FBI said.

Authorities believe the same man robbed a bank at 35 W. Wacker last week.
