WICKER PARK — Three women walked into the neighborhood American Apparel store on Monday afternoon and each stole as many as 10 items, including pricey jackets, a manager store said.

The shoplifting incident happened around 1:15 p.m. Monday, according to Zach Jesse, the shop's manager, told DNAinfo.

"They came in and asked for pink clothes and said they were looking for Valentine's Day outfits. I pointed them to the sale rack in the back because we have a lot of pink stuff on sale," said Jesse.

As the women browsed, Jesse said he and another worker were busy unpacking new inventory boxes that had just come in.

Within minutes, all three women, holding an estimated 10 items each that were still on the hangers, ran out of the store and across the street, where they jumped into a silver four-door sedan, Jesse said.

The women were described as black, in their early 20s, all wearing "fuzzy brown faux fur hats," Jesse said.

Jesse said two of the women had dark hair and were wearing pink and black sweatsuit type outfits, while a third woman, who had blonde hair, was wearing a red puffy jacket.

Fernando Zagal, a worker at Lubinski Furniture, across from American Apparel, said he saw all three women run into incoming traffic while "holding lots of clothes in their arms."

"Another woman was parked there and waiting. They drove away fast," said Zagal.

Jesse said he was in the process of filing an online police report to report the theft.
