WEST RIDGE — In a crime spree across the North Side early Saturday, two teenagers committed seven armed robberies and stole an SUV before being chased and arrested by police. 

The two teens, ages 14 and 16, approached two women and five men between 2:15-4 a.m. Saturday with a gun and robbed them, police said. In one case they stole a woman's SUV, police said. 

Officers in the Lincoln Police District later saw two people who matched the robbers' description get out of a dark-colored SUV like the one reported stolen from the woman, police said. 

When officers approached the two, the teens ran, police said. Officers chased them and arrested them.

Each was charged with seven felony counts of armed robbery and one count of attempted robbery with a firearm.

Police said the robberies occurred in the: 

• 5200 block of North Wolcott Avenue

• 5900 block of North Campbell Avenue

• 5500 block of North Lincoln Avenue

• 1900 block of West Foster Avenue

• 1900 block of West Norwood Avenue

• 6200 block of North Western Avenue

• 5300 block of North Virginia Avenue
