MUSEUM CAMPUS — Metallica is playing Soldier Field this summer.
The legendary rock band announced on Monday that it will perform here June 18 as part of its upcoming Worldwired 2017 North American tour. Avenged Sevenfold will open.
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, and each ticket sold comes with a copy of Metallica's "Hardwired ... To Self Destruct" album, which was released in November. Visit Metallica's website for more information.
Metallica will play Soldier Field just a few weeks after U2's "Joshua Tree" shows earlier in June. The stadium at 1410 S. Museum Campus Drive will also host Coldplay and the Major League Soccer All-Star game in August.
