SOUTH SHORE — MSNBC’s “All In With Chris Hayes” is coming to South Shore Thursday to hear directly from residents how the city’s violence has affected their lives.

The town hall-style program is expected to tape at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Paul Robeson Theater of the South Shore Cultural Center, 7059 S. South Shore Drive.

“Chicago has become a shorthand — both for the president and for people who share his worldview — for a kind of urban war zone. The reality of that is much more complicated,” the show said in an announcement of the taping.

The show is handing out tickets to Chicagoans who want to be part of the taping, but space is limited. To get a seat for the taping, email NBCForum@nbcuni.com.

In 2016, more than 700 people were murdered in Chicago, the most violent year since the '90s.
