LAKEVIEW — A burger, a waffle and a grilled cheese walk into a Chicago bar — the result are three drool-worthy and decadent sandwich creations being offered around town this month only.
Kuma's Corner, Leghorn Chicken and Cheesie's Pub and Grub are all serving up hearty handholds (that may require both hands) with sweet and savory flavors that blend brunch with dinner.
These specials are available to feed your culinary curiosity in February only.

The Sourvein at Kuma's Corner: Kuma's Corner in Avondale and its sister spot Kuma's Too in Lakeview offer monthly burger specials that pay delicious homage to the restaurant's favorite heavy-metal bands. This month it's original location at 2900 W. Belmont Ave. honors the band Sourvein with ingredients that are music to the ears. In its totality, the Sourvein strikes a powerful hunger chord: a massive burger topped with deep-fried blackened chicken tenders, waffle strips, applewood smoked bacon, cheddar, raspberry-maple aioli and maple syrup.

Chicken and Waffle Sandwich at Leghorn Chicken: Perhaps one of the greatest mash-ups known to modern omnivores takes the spotlight at Leghorn Chicken this month — chicken and waffles. This work of art snuggles crispy pickle-brined or Nashville hot chicken between two soft mini waffles and finishes it off with a small stack of bacon. The Gladys at Cheesie's Pub: February's monthly sandwich special at Cheesie's Pub and Grub in Lakeview and Wicker Park also saddles warm chicken tenders between two hearty waffles and is possibly named after your grandma. The Gladys serves up chicken, bacon, smoked gouda cheese and honey Dijon with a side of maple syrup for dipping. Give it a try at 958 W. Belmont Ave. or 1365 N.
