CHICAGO — A shooting in Garfield Ridge killed Geovani Mexicano, 27, and wounded a 29-year-old woman Sunday night, officials said.
At 9:30 p.m., the two were standing outside a parked car in the 4700 block of South Leamington Avenue when people in a black Dodge Ram pulled up, got into an argument with the two and fired shots at them, police said.
The man was hit in his chest and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Mexicano, of the same block where he was killed, was pronounced dead at 10:08 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
The woman was hit in her right shoulder and back and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where her condition was not available but she was listed as "stable," police said.
No one was in custody.
