CHICAGO — Clavont Eubanks, 15 was shot to death in South Deering on Saturday morning, officials said.

At 3:27 a.m., the boy was walking through a park in the 2100 block of East 97th Street when he heard gunshots and felt pain. The boy was hit in his right upper chest area and ran to a home in the 2200 block of East 97th Street before being transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

Eubanks was pronounced dead at 4:19 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

The boy was a documented gang member, police said.

No one is in custody.
