WEST RIDGE — Four important public events are coming up that touch nearly every facet of life on the Far North Side — and unfortunately three of them all land on the same day.
Speakers and public officials in the 49th and 50th Wards will discuss topics such as immigration and health care, crime, development and education at different locations on Monday.

• West Rogers Park Community Watch Group: At 7 p.m., officers from the Rogers Park Police District will be joined by community members at Indian Boundary Park, 2500 W. Lunt Ave., to hold an informational meeting with more details on the recently announced West Rogers Park Community Watch group.
• Information on Immigration and Health Care: From 7-9 p.m., organizers from the Pan-African Association and Girl Forward will be at the Heartland in Rogers Park, 7000 N. Glenwood Ave., to discuss President Donald Trump's recent Executive Orders regarding travel and immigration. A representative from Planned Parenthood Federation of America will also speak about issues facing access to health care.
• Mather High School Principal Forum: Mather High School in West Ridge has been in search of a new principal since its long-time leader left for another state in the fall. From 5:30-7:30 p.m., the community will have a chance to meet and hear from the two candidates at the school, 5835 N. Lincoln Ave. Up for the role are Damir Ara, assistant principal at Lane Tech College Prep High School and Peter Auffant, principal at James Shields Middle School.
The following meeting had been scheduled for Monday, but has since been postponed. A new date has not been set:
• New West Ridge Library and Senior Housing Complex: The nation's first co-library and public housing building for seniors is underway in the 50th Ward, with the second community-wide meeting being held to gather feedback on the project. An architecture competition is currently underway to come up with different potential designs for the structure at 6800 N. Western Ave., and representatives from the Chicago Housing Authority, which is financing the building, had been scheduled to be at the next meeting.
