BRIDGEPORT — Deering District detectives are looking for men who robbed several neighborhood businesses, including the Bridgeport Bakery.

Police said the crimes took place:

• At 7:10 p.m. Jan. 12 in the 1000 block of West 31st Street

• At 5:05 a.m. Jan. 19 in the 2900 block of South Archer Avenue

• At 4:09 p.m. Jan. 19 in the 1300 block of West 31st Street

• At 5:15 p.m. Thursday in the 3200 block of South Racine Avenue

The robbers are described one to three black men, ages 17-25, standing between 5-foot-5 and 6-foot-3, weighing between 140-160 pounds with brown eyes, black hair and dark clothing, police said.

Here’s what Chicago Police say you can do to stay safe:

• Be aware of your surroundings.

• Report all suspicious activity.

• If you are confronted by a robber, stay calm.

• Remember the robber’s physical characteristics, such as scars, acne, crooked teeth or a limp.

• Never chase a fleeing robber.

• Request contact information from witnesses.

• After a crime, dial 9-1-1, and — if possible — remain on scene until police arrive.

Anyone with information about the recent robberies should call detectives at 312-747-8382.
