LINCOLN PARK — There's a distinct French flavor to the Restaurant Week offerings in Lincoln Park and Old Town starting Friday.

Chez Moi celebrates the 55th anniversary of the debut of the PBS cooking show "The French Chef" with a "Salute to Julia Child" menu. Chef Dominique Tougne has selected chestnut soup,

Child's duck au peche and chocolate cake as a prix fixe menu for $33 at the restaurant, 2100 N. Halsted St. The special runs through Feb. 9, and during that time Chez Moi will also play episodes of "The French Chef" during dinner.

The Blanchard, a brasserie at 1935 N. Lincoln Park West, offers a four-course $44 menu in which chef Ryan Burns concentrates on Paris specialties.

The selections begin with frisee aux lardon with poached farm egg and pommery mustard vinaigrette or roasted beet salad with chevre and candied hazelnuts. The second course includes a choice between Hudson Valley foie gras, moules marinieres or escargot.

Entree choices include steak frites with beef fat hollandaise and bordelaise, pouli roti, Dover sole meuniere or duck a l’Orange. The meal finishes with a choice of dark chocolate oeuf with peppermint, sea salt and cream, or a banana tart with toffee cremeux, coconut sorbet and marshmallow.

Restaurant week, running Friday through Feb. 9, offers deals at dozens of restaurants in Lincoln Park and at a handful in Old Town.
