CHICAGO — Giovanni Lopez, 20, was shot dead Monday in West Elsdon, officials said.
At 4:27 p.m., the man was in the 5100 block of South Ridgeway Avenue when he was shot in his lower body, police said. The shooting was just blocks from Curie Metropolitan High School.
Lopez, of the 3600 block of West 81st Place, was pronounced dead at 4:41 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
No one was in custody.
