West Pullman Man Charged in Murder Of Tremayne Henderson

CHICAGO — A West Pullman man has been charged with murdering 21-year-old Tremayne Henderson on Saturday.

John A. Smith, 22, of the 12800 block of South Union Avenue, is charged with first-degree murder and possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

According to authorities, Smith and Henderson were arguing in the first block of West 104th Street shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday when Smith pulled a gun and fatally shot Henderson.

Henderson, of the same block where he was killed, was pronounced dead at 9:16 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

No further information was immediately available.
