CHICAGO — Bridgeport and Armour Square have been hit by five robberies since the beginning of January, police said.
During the robberies, a thief or thieves walk up to a victim and rob them, according to a Chicago Police community alert.
The robberies occurred:
• 11:15 p.m. Jan. 4 in the 200 block of West 26th Street
• 9:43 p.m. Jan. 7 in the 2700 block of South Wells Street
• 8:10 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of West 31st Street
• 11 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of West 20th Street
• 11:58 p.m. Friday in the 2800 block of South Wells Street
The thieves were described as black men who were 5-foot-6 to 6-foot, weighed 140-160 pounds and were 18-30 years old, police said. They wore dark clothing.
