DOWNTOWN — The Chicago Athletic Association hotel is looking for 15 LGBTQ couples who want to get hitched and make history — at a huge discount.

The hotel, 12 S. Michigan Ave., is arranging a wedding ceremony where more than a dozen couples will get hitched while benefiting charity. The event, called A Love Supreme, will be the largest wedding ceremony in the hotel's more-than-100-year history.

It normally costs tens of thousands of dollars to get married at the athletic association, but participants in A Love Supreme will have to pay just $4,680. The cost is all-inclusive, meaning it'll cover the venue, flowers, photography and more.

"A Love Supreme seeks to unify the many circles of the city's community, forging connections and strengthening ties with one another with the underlying message that in Chicago, love always wins," organizers wrote on the event's website. "A Love Supreme invites all versions of love to be married collectively, en mass[e] to honor the advances made as a community and nation."

LGBTQ couples who are interested in participating must email alovesupreme@chicagoathletichotel.com to get an application.

If selected, each couple will be able to bring 20 guests and will work with a wedding planner to ensure their style is shown during the ceremony and reception.

The 15 couples will get married at the same time on April 9. Kristen Kaza, event planner and LGBTQ community leader, will officiate at the large ceremony.

A portion of the proceeds will go to Howard Brown Health, which helps LGBTQ people access health resources.
