Gunfire In West Ridge Leads To Increased Police Patrols, Officials Say

WEST RIDGE — Police are keeping extra watch over a 2½-block stretch of West Ridge after recent reports of shots being fired in the area, officials said Thursday. 

Ald. Patrick O'Connor (40th) said Foster District police received reports of gunfire being heard between Rockwell Street and Peterson, Ardmore and Talman Avenues on two separate occasions. 

Shots were first heard at approximately 5:48 a.m. on  Jan, 14, and again the next day around 2 a.m.

In response, O'Connor said police "have increased patrol in the area."

The next CAPS meeting for the police beat that covers the area will be at 7 p.m. on Feb. 6 at 5400 N. Lincoln Ave.
