ROGERS PARK — Smack Dab Bakery in Rogers Park is commemorating the transition of President Barack Obama to President-elect Donald Trump by offering hungry customers election-themed treats this weekend only.

On the menu at the bakery's current location at Roger Park Social, 6920 N. Glenwood Ave., is The Barack Biscuit — a savory breakfast sandwich on one Smack Dab's signature cheesy biscuits with egg, ham off-the-bone, bacon jam and pineapple jalapeño jam.

"We're crazy for the Obama family, and biscuits, so of course, we thought we would unite the two in sacred celebration," the shop said on social media. "It is going to rock your American flag socks off."

For those with more of a sweet tooth, a vegan Munch on Washington donut will also be for sale, complete with pink, blue and white frosting "in honor of the trans movement and more generally, for all people who may have been left out of social movements."

A portion of the proceeds from the two items will go toward Sex Workers Outreach Project, a Chicago nonprofit that provides support and resources for those involved in various aspects of sex work.

"The sex worker community is among the most marginalized and silenced in our communities," owner Christine Forster said. "We have heard an abundance of voices in the current dialogue, but for the most part, this population seems like it has no place at the table."
