Quentin Perkins, 34, Killed In Garfield Park Shooting, Officials Say

CHICAGO — A shooting in Garfield Park killed Quentin Perkins, 34, Wednesday morning, officials said.

At 9:20 a.m., the man was sitting in a car in the 4700 block of West Flournoy Street when someone walked up and fired shots at him, police said. He drove away from the scene and crashed his car farther down the block.

The man was hit in his abdomen and arm and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.

Perkins, of the 5000 block of West Van Buren Street, was pronounced dead at 10:12 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

No one was in custody.
