CHICAGO — A shooting in Englewood killed Marvin Johnson, 37, on Thursday morning, officials said.
At 9:11 a.m., the man walked outside in the 7000 block of South Carpenter Street and two people walked up to him and fired shots, police said.
He was hit multiple times and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in grave condition.
The man was a documented gang member, a police source said.
Johnson, of the same block where he was killed, was pronounced dead at 10:01 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
The shooters ran away and no one was in custody, police said.
