CHICAGO — A shooting in Chatham killed Sylvester Gardner, 28, and wounded two others on Tuesday night, officials said.
At 8:34 p.m., the three victims were inside a business in the first block of West 79th Street when a man walked in, fired shots and ran away, police said.
Gardner, of the 7900 block of South Wabash, was later pronounced dead, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
A 21-year-old man was shot in his arm and leg and was in critical condition, and a 17-year-old was shot in her head and back. The teen's condition was not available but she was listed as "stable," police said. They were at Stroger Hospital.
No one was in custody.
