Englewood Shooting Kills Tyrone Blake, Wounds Woman, Police Say

CHICAGO — A shooting in Englewood killed one man and left a woman wounded early Saturday, police said.

At 3:30 a.m., the man and woman were in a home in the 6000 block of South Carpenter Street when five to six men entered and fired shots, police said. The man was hit multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was identified as Tyrone Blake, 25, of the 6100 block of South Indiana Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed he died from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.

The 26-year-old woman was hit multiple times and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.

No one was in custody.
