WICKER PARK — Police will be on the lookout for drunken drivers in Wicker Park, Bucktown, Logan Square and the surrounding areas this weekend, police said.

The Shakespeare Police District "DUI Saturation Patrol" effort will run from 7 p.m. Friday-3 a.m. Saturday.

See a map of the district, roughly bordered by Central Park and Ashland Avenues on the west and east, Belmont Avenue on the north; and Division Street on the south.

Police said the purpose of the patrol is to "saturate a pre-designated area with roving police officers" looking for impaired drivers.

Patrols also will crack down on speed, alcohol-related and safety belt violations, officials said.

A similar patrol in the Jefferson Park District last weekend resulted in 82 tickets, though no one was charged with DUI.
