UPTOWN — Caravan Restaurant plans to debut a new menu and a new look next week.

The Uptown restaurant at 4810 N. Broadway, which specialized in Middle Eastern cuisine, has been closed since the beginning of the year as it works on the new concept, according to the voicemail for the restaurant.

Caravan will keep some of its Persian menu items and will be adding some pub foods and pizza, according to Business Partners, Uptown's chamber of commerce.

It has changed its logo and will be transitioning to a more casual, sports atmosphere with state-of-the-art projection screens. It is also considering adding a sidewalk cafe, according to Business Partners.

Renovations include adding 22 flat-screen TVs, eight double-sided TVs, a pool table and jukebox, according to its website.

The restaurant will reopen Tuesday, according to its voicemail.

The owner of Caravan could not be reached for comment.
