CHICAGO — Brown Line service has resumed after the CTA temporarily suspended service between the Merchandise Mart and the Loop because of a track problem.

Service was resumed around 11:35 a.m. Wednesday, but commuters can expect residual delays, the CTA said.

Beginning around 10:25 a.m., Brown Line trains were only operating between the Merchandise Mart and the Kimball terminal as a result of the track problems, the agency said in an alert Wednesday morning.

Shuttle buses were made available to provide connecting service, the CTA said.

The problem stemmed from an "electrical issue," said CTA spokeswoman Irene Ferradaz.
