COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A 28-year-old woman was robbed in Beverly on New Year's Day, court records show.

Donshay Sanders, 18, has been charged in the attack. Bail was set by Cook County Judge Adam Bourgeois Jr. at $350,000.

According to an arrest report, Sanders pushed the victim to the ground in the 10300 block of South Western Avenue and yelled, "I'm going to kill you," before stealing the woman's purse.

Police were given a description of the attacker, who'd been wearing a blue-and-yellow Utah Jazz basketball hoodie, court records show.

Police spotted Sanders with the same hoodie trying to enter a closed business in the 10400 block of South Western Avenue about 10 p.m. Jan. 1, according to a police report.

Sanders was identified by the victim, police said, and was still carrying the woman's purse, which contained a wallet, Olympus camera lens and eyeliner.

"Our guys were on it and grabbed him right away. It was nice work," said Chicago Police Cmdr. Mark Harmon of the Morgan Park District.

Sanders is charged with robbery.

The victim suffered scratches on her forearms, police said.
