BRIDGEPORT — Sure, Jackalope Coffee & Tea House is well known for its locally sourced donuts, gourmet java and herbal teas.
But this colorful coffeehouse is big draw for hungry neighborhood folks looking to slay one of its popular mythical creature sandwiches, served panini-style in a variety of classic and vegetarian offerings — like the Imp, Centaur, Bigfoot, Unicorn and, of course, the Jackalope.
This week, a green beast crawled onto the menu: The Ogre.
For $6, the Ogre comes with sliced turkey, cheddar cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado spread and ranch dressing.
Jackalope Coffee & Tea House is open Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m.-8 p.m., on Saturday from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. and on Sunday from 8 a.m.-7 p.m.
