CHICAGO — A group that pushes for gender equality is offering thousands of dollars worth of grants during the first 100 days of the Trump administration.
The Chicago Foundation for Women's 100 Day Fund will offer grants of $500-$2,500, according to a news release from the group. The grants will be available for events or projects that help people engage in issues affecting women and girls and push for gender equity in and around Chicago.
The fund will provide "rapid response" grants to non-partisan, community-based groups that are focused on achieving gender equity, the group said. Proposals for activities that will expand or support leadership and engagement among women of color are "especially encouraged," the group said.
Proposals for the grants can be submitted online until Feb. 3. The projects or events should take place Jan. 20, when Trump is inaugurated, through April 30, the end of the administration's first 100 days in power.
