CHICAGO — If your New Year's resolution is to lose weight then you might want to move.

A study from WalletHub looked at 150 of the biggest U.S. cities and found Chicagoans have to cough up more money than average to go to the gym.

They also pay more to buy a home, and the city struggles with binge drinking. That doesn't bode well for Chicagoans who've pledged to lose weight, buy a home or drink less this year.

It's not all bad, though. Overall, the city ranked 38th among the 150 cities for keeping New Year's resolutions, beating out New York (83rd) and Los Angeles (43rd).

Chicago ranked No. 1 for its attractions, meaning it's got a lot of zoos, museums and theaters that can help people who've vowed to go out more and improve relationships with family and friends. The city also is among the best (ranked 32nd) to live in if your resolution focused on financial goals like saving money or paying off debt.

Chicago is in the middle of the pack when it comes to weight loss and fitness goals, ranking 70th.

If you made a resolution that focused on your education or career, you might have a harder time meeting your goals, though — Chicago ranked 117th in that area.
