MORGAN PARK — Police in the Morgan Park and Gresham Districts are searching for an armed robber targeting dollar stores in the area.

Police issued a business alert Thursday that included a picture of the man believed to have robbed four such stores between Nov. 27 and Wednesday. All of the robberies occurred between 5-9 p.m., police said.

The armed robber works alone and generally walks up to cashiers to buy candy. When the register is opened, the robber instead pulls out a gun and demands money, police said.

The robber is described as a black man between ages 30-40, standing between 5-foot-7 and six feet tall. He weighs about 175 pounds and has a light complexion with a goatee, police said.

Anyone with more information about the robberies is asked to call 312-747-8273.
