CHICAGO — A Chicago firefighter was hospitalized following a Sunday morning blaze in the Far South Side, officials say.
The 2.5-story building fire was reported around 7:10 a.m. in the 3600 block of East 99th Street, said Chicago Fire Department spokesperson Juan Hernandez. The building was believed to be vacant, Hernandez said.
The firefighter was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in fair condition. No other injuries were reported.
