CHICAGO— The fourth and final defendant convicted in a plot to rent out foreclosed homes in Beverly and Morgan Park has been sentenced to four years in prison, officials said.

On Wednesday, December 21, Raymond Trimble pled guilty to one count of theft, a class one felony, and was sentenced to four years in prison.

Ald. Matt O'Shea (19th) announced the charges in an email to his constituents Friday.

"Prosecuting cases of this nature are extremely complex and labor intensive," O'Shea said in the email. "This is another example of the positive results that can be achieved when residents and law enforcement work together."

Trimble was arrested for illegally renting out vacant houses in December of 2015.

The other three individuals, Fahim Ali, Torrez Moore, and Arshad Thomas, Trimble's son, were previously convicted for their roles in the plot.

Thomas received 3 years and 9 months in state prison, Ali and Moore await sentencing. Trimble also pled guilty to one count of aggravated fleeing and alluding, and one count of escape on an unrelated incident, O'Shea said.
