BUCKTOWN/WICKER PARK — After 28 years in business, Northside Bar & Grill has added live music to its menu.

Neo-soul band The Regulators, led by keyboardist Brendan Doshi, is set to take the stage 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the bar, 1635 N. Damen Ave.

There is no cover, according to the show's Facebook page.

Northside Bar & Grill's manager Keith Kubista said a stage was built in the back room along the wall and Thursday's performance will be the bar and restaurant's second live show, following a night of live music last month.

"It has really helped to change the atmosphere, and we are really excited to see how it develops in the months and years to come," Kubista said.

Kubista said the decision to add live music was made by the ownership, who have "always strived to stay relevant, and currently are making a push to rebrand the image of Northside Bar and Grill."

In addition to Northside, several other spots in the neighborhood that are not traditional music venues also offer live music, such as Dimo's Pizza, 1615 N. Damen Ave.; Emporium Arcade Bar, 1366 N. Milwaukee Ave., and  Quencher's Saloon, 2401 N. Western Ave.
