CHICAGO — Pork & Mindy’s announced Wednesday it has signed a multi-year deal with the Chicago Cubs to have a concession stand in the bleachers in Wrigley Field.

The barbeque company, located at 1623 N. Milwaukee Ave., is scheduled to serve their 14-hour smoked meats and sandwiches.

As part of the terms of the partnership and concession agreement, Pork & Mindy’s will add specialty sauces and other menu items that will be available at select concession stands throughout the ballpark beginning Opening Day, April 10, 2017, officials said.

“As a lifelong Chicagoan and enormous Chicago sports fan, I’m pinching myself that my food will now be sold at historic Wrigley Field,” said Jeff Mauro, co-founder and Executive Chef of Pork & Mindy’s. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime moment for me and my family and I’m feeling grateful, rather excited and ready to learn a thing or two from the champs on improving my batting average.”

To celebrate Pork & Mindy’s agreement with the Cubs, Mauro plans to create some new sandwiches to cater directly to Wrigley Field faithful. Pork & Mindy’s will be launching a contest for Cubs fans next month to name one of the sandwiches that will be served at Wrigley Field, and the winner will receive several prizes including tickets to Opening Day.

“When we began discussions with Pork & Mindy’s, we immediately knew they were the perfect fit as we expand our offerings to elevate the fan dining experience at Wrigley Field,” said Cubs Senior Director of Corporate Partnerships Allen Hermeling. “We look forward to working closely with Kevin and Jeff and the Pork & Mindy’s team to bring even more unique ways for our fans to enjoy the 2017 season as we defend our championship.”

The Cubs and Wrigley Field are 95 percent owned by an entity controlled by a trust established for the benefit of the family of Joe Ricketts, owner and CEO of DNAinfo.com. Joe Ricketts has no direct involvement in the management of the iconic team.
