WICKER PARK — Neighbored by Flash Taco and Stan's Donuts, DOX Quality Greek opened for business at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wicker Park's bustling Milwaukee, Damen and North avenues intersection.
The name of the eatery at 1566 N. Damen Ave. is short for the Greek word “Doxa,” which means “glory, pride, great."
Chef Christos Fasseas said the fast casual fare is designed for sharing. Each order is made custom, so times vary, but most dishes will be ready in under 10 minutes, he said.
Patrons order at a counter, get a number and the food is brought to them.
Highlights include salads; chicken wings; grilled octopus; kalamakia (meat skewers); pita stuffed with a choice of braised lamb, pork shoulder, chicken thigh or veggies; and rotisserie chicken.
To wash everything down, DOX also offers draft beer, cocktails and wine.
Non-alcoholic Smart Water, Vikos sparkling water, bottled soft drinks, Diet Coke in a can and Limonata are also available.

Fasseas is partnering with the owners of GRK Greek Kitchen on the new concept, which replaced City Soles, a shoe store that has relocated a few times since closing in April 2015.
DOX will be open every day of the week and offers carryout. Fasseas said delivery will likely be coming down the road.
