Englewood Man Charged In Lakeview Party Bus Shooting

CHICAGO — An Englewood man has been charged in a party bus shooting that wounded two men early Sunday near Lake Shore Drive, police said.

Victor Haynes, 31, of the 400 block of West 65th Place, faces two felony counts of aggravated battery and one felony count of unlawful use of weapon, police said.

At 1:53 a.m. Sunday, the party bus was in the 500 block of West Irving Park Drive when Haynes began arguing with two men and fired a handgun, striking a 33-year-old man in the chest and a 38-year-old man in the head, police said.

The 33-year-old was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in stable condition and the 38-year-old was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

Haynes fled the scene but was later taken into custody in the 3500 block of North Lake Shore Drive, police said.

Haynes was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center for treatment of what is thought to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the left hand, police said.
