CHICAGO — It's going to be a wet Christmas for Chicago as rain is in the forecast for Sunday and temperatures finally begin to warm up from the polar vortex-driven weather.

There will be "more clouds than sun" on Friday with a high of 32 degrees, and Saturday will probably be sunny and 34 degrees, said AccuWeather senior meteorologist Paul Walker.

Christmas Eve's forecast is for mostly cloudy but dry, with a low of  28 degrees. Then the rain could come.

"Looks like for Sunday we're going to have a system coming into Chicago bringing on-and-off rain on Christmas Day," Walker said.

There will be no new snow for Christmas for Chicago, but Walker said this year's winter holiday will see relatively warmer weather with a high of 41 degrees.
