WICKER PARK — Harvest Moon, a Division Street restaurant and lounge, has unveiled a winter menu that starts Tuesday and also livened up its walls with new works by muralist David Bozic.

Located at 1805 W. Division St. in the former Bob San sushi, Harvest Moon opened in late August.

The winter menu, offering entrees include fettuccini, milk braised pork and braised short rib, among other dishes, lasts through March 20, according to the Harvest Moon website.

Along with the menu, the dining room features two just completed murals by Bozic, whom Harvest Moon owner Martin Hogue said was "given free reign" to paint in the dining room.

"It's an Art Nouveau kind of style that fits the concept and theme of the inside of Harvest Moon," Hogue said.

The murals each depict one woman, alone, with melting candlesticks on either her shoulders or upper back. In one portrait, from across the room, the candles almost look like shoulder pads.

Bozic said he was trying to create "a whimsical feel" with the new works.

Hogue said that melting candles are a big part of the Harvest Moon decor, where there is an entire candle wall with 15 to 20 candles burning at one time.

"The candles kind of warm up the space. Coming into cold winter months, we are trying to be that cozy warm spot. People walk in and say it's a warm and cozy feel the second you walk in," Hogue said.

The murals are also a bit of a teaser for an upcoming weekly Wednesday night painting class at the bar with Bozic.

Starting in mid-January, the painting classes, which will start at $35, will be a new addition to weekly events like a DJ music night and a free salsa class on "Tropical Thursdays."

"We are trying to not just be the regular everyday restaurant," Hogue said.

Along with Harvest Moon, Bozic, who specializes in bold, urban murals and does projects around the country, also has completed murals in the Smack Shack in West Loop, Old Crow in Wrigleyville, El Hefe in River North and Susan Sarandon's Spin at Marina City.
