Kids Home for Winter Break? Check Out Film Festival at Beverly Arts Center

"The Secret Life of Pets" and "Pete's Dragon" will be shown Wednesday as part of the ninth annual 19th Ward Children's Film Festival at the Beverly Arts Center.

MORGAN PARK — The ninth annual 19th Ward Children's Film Festival will return Wednesday to the Beverly Arts Center.

The 400-seat theater at 2407 W. 111th St. in Morgan Park will host a pair of children's movies. Admission also includes snacks during the show.

Tickets cost $1 per person for each movie and are issued on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be no advance registration.

"The Secret Life of Pets" will be shown at 10 a.m. and Disney's "Pete's Dragon" will be featured at 2 p.m.

Organizers of the event include Ald. Matt O'Shea (19th), State Rep. Fran Hurley (D-35th), State Sen. Bill Cunningham (D-18th) as well as the 19th Ward Youth Foundation and the arts center.
