MORGAN PARK — Chicago firefighter Robert Pangrazio returned home late Monday morning to find firefighters swarming his two-story house in Morgan Park.

A small fire was contained to a bedroom on the second floor of the house in the 11400 block of South Fairfield Avenue, said Pangrazio, an engineer with the Chicago Fire Department.

A battalion chief on the scene said the cause of the fire is under investigation. Pangrazio said he had no idea how the fire started.

No one was seriously injured as a result of the fire.

Pangrazio's nephew was just getting out of the shower when he noticed the smoke and called the Fire Department. The nephew was taken to the hospital as a precaution and should be fine, Pangrazio said.

Four fire trucks and two ambulances responded to the fire. One firefighter said the smoke and subsequent water damage will likely be the larger issue in repairing the Georgian-style home.

Pangrazio said he's lived in the house for 27 years.
