Thieves Smash Car Into Lincoln Park Store, Steal Coats, Officials Say

By Kelly Bauer | December 17, 2016 12:02pm | Updated on December 19, 2016 7:45am

CHICAGO — A Lincoln Park store was burglarized in a smash-and-grab incident early Saturday, police said.

At 3:53 a.m., someone drove a car into the rear of the store in the 1900 block of North Clybourn Avenue, police said. People from the car grabbed merchandise from the store and then drove off in a different car.

The thieves stole coats and jackets, though officers were not immediately sure how many had been taken, a police source said.

No one was in custody.

Moosejaw, which sells outdoor gear, has been the target of several burglaries on the block since it opened in October 2015. Thieves stole $20,000 worth of coats from the store just in one incident in September.
