CHICAGO — The city will get smacked with more snow before another bout of extreme cold temperatures this weekend.

It will start snowing later in the afternoon on Saturday, said Amy Seeley, a National Weather Service meteorologist.

The snowstorm is expected to last late into the night, but it might even stick around until Sunday morning, leaving behind 2-4 inches of snow, Seeley said.

Sunday will also have "fairly cold air," Seeley said. Temperatures will be in the single digits in the city but it could feel like 20 below zero, as it did earlier in the week.

Things will warm up slightly next week: There should be temperatures in the upper 20s to low 30s for most of the week, Seeley said.
