AUSTIN — Corey Martin, 17, was shot dead on Friday in Austin, officials said.
At 8:41 a.m., the teen was in the 600 block of North Long Avenue when someone with a gun walked up and shot him, police said.
The teen, who was shot in the chest and head, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
martin, of the 700 block of North Long, was pronounced dead at 9:55 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
No one is in custody for the shooting, police said.
