OLD TOWN — More than 25 years after first creating the "Shawon-O-Meter" in 1989 to track former Cubs shortstop Shawon Dunston's batting average, longtime fan David Cihla's "Schwarb-O-Meter" is getting inducted into the Chicago History Museum.

The "Schwarb-O-Meter" sign tracked Cubs powerhouse designated hitter and fan favorite Kyle Schwarber's batting average throughout the World Series.

Schwarber returned to the field to help the Cubs win the World Series after a serious knee injury.

He led the series with a .412 batting average and .500 on base percentage.

Cihla said he will be donating the popular sign to the history museum, which already has an original Shawon-O-Meter. Both players have No. 12 jerseys.

"The excitement surrounding his return was palpable, as his ability to bat for power, average and on-base percentage is incredible for a player his age," Cihla said.
