CHICAGO — The Neo-Futurists announced today a three-city, three-company collaboration on a brand new late-night show scheduled to debut in January 2017.

Along with its sister companies in New York and San Francisco, the experimental Chicago theater troupe will unveil its brand new production in the respective cities.

The new show will replace "Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind" — Chicago's longest running show that has been performed since 1988. Neo-Futurist's founder Greg Allen announced late November his plan to revoke the Chicago company's right to perform "Too Much Light."

"Our companies have increasingly shared tours and exchanges within Too Much Light, and in this collaborative spirit, our Ensemble is thrilled to forge ahead with Neo-Futurists all over the country,” said New York Neo-Futurists Board President Bradley Rolston.

Performances will follow Chicago's regular late-night schedule every Friday and Saturday at 11:30 p.m. and every Sunday at 7 p.m. at The Neo-Futurarium.

While the title for the new production is still undecided, ensemble members in three cities have begun to work on naming the show and "other exciting changes," the theater said in a press release.

“As our three companies continue to exchange ideas and keep a critical eye to our mission and aesthetic, our work becomes more relevant," said Chicago Neo-Futurists Artistic Director Kurt Chiang. "...And we couldn’t be more honored to be with New York and San Francisco as we endeavor to keep doing just that."

The Chicago Neo-Futurists will continue their regularly scheduled performances of "Too Much Light" through December, with a final performance added on Friday Dec. 30 at The Neo-Futurarium.

Tickets can be purchased at neofuturists.org.
