
CHICAGO — Three people were killed and 12 others were wounded in shootings throughout the weekend, according to police.
On Sunday, there was one man killed and three others wounded, police said. The day's lone homicide was a 45-year-old man shot dead in his car in Riverdale, police said.
Shootings on Saturday wounded four people, while two were killed and five others wounded in shootings Friday.
In other Sunday shootings:
• At 7 p.m., a 23-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were shot in Woodlawn, police said.
They were in the 6600 block of South Stony Island Avenue when shots rang out, police said. The man was struck in his head and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition, police said. The woman was struck in her back and right leg and was also taken to Northwestern, where her condition was not released but police considered her to be stable.
A police source said the man is a documented gang member.
• At 2:40 p.m., 16-year-old boy was shot in North Lawndale, police said.
The boy was outside in the 1300 block of South Millard Avenue when he was shot in his right leg, police said. He managed to get himself to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said.
No arrests have been made.
