Burglar Uses Ax To Break Into Garages In Roseland, Auburn Gresham: Police

 A burglar is using an ax to break into garages in Auburn Gresham and Roseland. The thief removes siding from the wall of the garages and punches a hole in the building with the ax, according to the Chicago Police Department.

ROSELAND — A burglar is using an ax to break into garages in Auburn Gresham and Roseland, according to Chicago police.

The thief removes siding from the wall of the garages and punches a hole in the building with an ax. Once inside, the burglar steals lawn equipment and tools, a community alert from police in the Morgan Park District says.

The garage burglaries occurred:

• Between Nov. 21 and 22 in the 600 block of west 109th Street in Roseland

• Nov. 23 in the 10700 block of south Parnell Avenue in Roseland

• Between Dec. 2 and 3 in the 8800 block of south Wallace Street in Auburn Gresham

• Sunday in the 10900 block of South Normal Avenue in Roseland

• Between Sunday and Monday in the 10800 block of South Parnell Avenue in Roseland

Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call detectives in the Area South Bureau at 312-747-8273.
