MOUNT GREENWOOD — Pancakes somehow taste better when accompanied by marching band music.

Or at least that's the theory behind the annual Mrs. B's Bandcake Breakfast at Brother Rice High School. The fundraiser is set for 8 a.m.-noon Sunday at the school, 10001 S. Pulaski Road in Mount Greenwood.

For the fifth year, the event will raise money for the Brother Rice and Mother McAuley Band.

Admission is $5, and children 4 years old and younger eat for free. Tickets are available at the door. Santa will also be stopping by to take pictures with all the girls and boys.

The combined band’s main fundraiser is dedicated to the memory of the late Eileen Barkowski, a Brother Rice teacher who served as the band’s moderator.

For more information, visit the Brother Rice website or call 773-429-4300.
